@tpain That's too much work for me brah. I think that's why I'm a stoner and not a drinker, roll up cannon, get toasted, and read shit on the internet. All within 15 minutes, and no hang over. It's also 0 calories, and eating David's sunflower seeds keeps the munchies at bay. Low carb diet doesn't give you many snacks to choose from.

As a physician and lover of alcohol I can attest to my hangover cure. What you say is true regarding hangover remedies however the best cure for a hangover is to avoid it altogether. How?? I am convinced that alcohol alone is not the cause of the hangover, rather it is the elements in the fermentation of the alcohol (by products yet unidentified). My argument for this is the total lack of hangover involved in the "smoking" of ethanol alcohol (etoh). It induces a rapid intoxication with absolutely no hangover. Why? You are inhaling the vaporized etoh and nothing else. That said, you will avoid a hangover if you apply this theory to drinking spirits, somewhat with beer, and very little with wine. Spirits are distilled. Cheap spirits are distilled one time. Expensive spirits are triple or even quadrupled distilled. The distilling process vaporizes the alcohol and then re-condenses it. With each pass more and more distilling byproduct is removed. What the hell am I saying? I am saying if you drink cheap ass spirits like a $5 dollar a liter bourbon you are going to get hit with a hangover! Never, I say NEVER drink from the rail or well. Always order high end spirits that are multiple distilled. I assure you, I have yet to this day to have a hangover drinking only Absolute or Grey Goose Vodka. I can say the same with regard to even high end Bourbon. Scotch is a different beast. While all malt scotch today is always double or triple distilled it can STILL bring a hangover. Grain Malt Scotch is made in a column still.. Beware. I do not know why scotch is such a beast. Hmm More research to do I guess.

Wine is by far the hangover king. No distillation and the aging process gives lots of time for new weird by-products to form in the bottle. Beer is also always a risk but good beer will leave you feeling better than cheap beer. TRUST ME. You will feel better if you avoid the Papst and Schlitz.

Mixing DOES NOT cause a hangover. It is merely the fact that you mixed in by-pruducts.. Good vodka plus wine = hangover and now you know why.

Lastly, dehydration also plays a role. etoh inhibits the release of anti-diuretic hormone (ADH). This hormone keeps the kidney from spilling urine into the bladder. Drink booze, inhibit ADH, spill urine in the bladder, piss alot, get dehydrated, wake up with cotton mouth and a headache and electrolyte abnormalities.. all proven to cause headache. Solution: at least 2-3 hours after your last drink, when the ADH levels are up again.. Drink a big glass of water. If your dead tired.. Set an alarm 3 hours after crashing, get up and chug a liter of water. You will feel better.
