Crunch time

I’m done with my weekend here in Denver and got everything done that I wanted to do.
I got down my set list, had some great fun and got to do some shows in one of my favorite cities.
I also got a chance to drive up to the mountains and seriously think about moving here.
The winters are rough, but the lack of traffic is fucking sweet, and you really can’t beat the scenery. The mountains are like the most mind blowing art work you could ever look at, and they’re thousands of feet high and all around you.
It’s really a magnificent thing to be around, and it’s incredibly inspirational.

The cool thing about Colorado is that you can be in these mountains, and then drive 20 minutes and be in the city.
I travel so much with comedy and the UFC that I really just need a place close to an airport, and if I needed to practice stand up the Comedy Works clubs out here are some of the very best in the country.
I’m gonna wait until after next week in Columbus to seriously think it through, but I’m definitely leaning in this direction.
I know I’ve gotta get out of LA, and Colorado so far is my #1 alternative.

For now, it’s crunch time, and I’ve got this weekends shows on audio to go over and make notes on for the next few days, and then I’ll head to Columbus, Ohio to get the party started and film my Spike TV comedy special next thursday.
If you want to be in the audience for the filming, it’s all going down Thursday, March 5th at the Southern Theatre in Columbus, and tickets are available on Ticketmaster.
The next few days are going to be progress reports and video blogs.
Thanks to everyone that came out to the shows in Denver! I had a great fucking time.

Denver is a great town. We all know what your really doing… high altitude MMA training so that you can fight Anderson Silva at UFC 100. Just kidding. Good luck on the March 5th show.

Yeah, Denver is awesome. I Love going to Buffalo Bill’s grave up on Lookout Mountain. The view of Denver from up there is truly amazing!

Hey Joe, great show! I was at the first show Thursday night. I’ve seen two major stand up shows, George Carlin, and now Joe Rogan. Keep up the good work brother, if more of us stupid monkeys thought about out own nature with as much honesty as you do, maybe we’d evolve faster. You set a good example. Good luck with the Spike thing!

Hi Joe! My husband and I saw you at the first show on Saturday night in Denver. You are hilarious!!!! We laughed so hard, thank you! I even lost my Versace sunglasses at the show that night, but it was worth it.! =) My husband and I are both Colorado natives and were so excited to hear you say that you are considering this BEAUTIFUL state as your next home, that’s awesome! See you in Denver next time!!! In the meantime, see you with UFC, we’re huge fans!!!

HI Joe. I’m a long time MMA fan and recent follower of your blog. Needless to say, I really like the way you think. Do you ever get our to Portland, OR or Seattle for stand up gigs? Hopefully you’ll be here in Portland for the Nog vs Couture card if that gets finalized. I know some spots you’re going to want to check out. Get in touch and I’ll give you the Portlanders inside.
    Best,

    Joe,

Denver is a great city. I lived there for a year and loved it. You are 100% correct, “traffic” is a joke, light rail is expanding too. Winter is not bad, almost always sunny and not as cold as you think.

I prefer smaller cities close to the mountains (I loved Portland too) and Denver is a great one. You can get to very nice areas for hiking/biking/whatever in less than an hour. Plenty of other destinations further West as well.

Fun city in terms of nightlife and good restaurants. Parking is easy and cheap. I could go on and on.

Several nice neighborhoods in the city and If you don’t want to live downtown I’d check out Arvada.

As a member of the Comedy Works staff, I just wanted to let you know that it was great to have you in town. The response that we received from from our customers when leaving the show was outstanding. They were equally impressed that you would take time after the show to hang out in our lounge and speak to them.

We have a seen a lot of comics come through, but none have topped you in the amazing comments we received about your show. It truly was a pleasure.

yo! do some research on the beetle kill. its devastating the forest. it seems to me like the mountains could light up at any time. its sad. id be mindful of that while considering moving up there. im from hawaii and been in colorado for ten years. ive been thinking about moving back…especially after re-reading your blog post about the experience you had while there. eh…. you even read these comments? really?

    Yo’ Joe,

You most likely don’t read most of these fucking things (my ploy to get you to read this)

I am a native Ny’er and moved here to Colorado 3 yrs ago for all the reasons you mention and more. Besides being beautiful, the med scene is off the charts. Know of a few high profile guys who live here to live a low-key good, life without the NY-LA bullshit attached. People won’t sweat you either if you’re recognized, everyone is pretty much stoned and/or laid back or climbing a fucking rock. I own a dog daycare/boarding facility on the way to the airport so if you need a special place for your pet (if you got) Would be honored to work with you if you move here.

Youre view on life is pretty much on the money according to me. Besides being a martial artist, comedy fan, and self proclaimed philosopher, I appreciate your apporach on life that is all about telling people who they are and putting the mirror in front of the deuche bags who operate on spiritual auto-pilot.

Now that Im done sucking youre cock, Ill say good bye.
